The Dying Of The Light

Published by Tahan Dragonsbane on

Do not go gentle into that good night
Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Wise men learn, see the secrets of the night
Tendrils of death seek, to crush the heart of right
Rage, rage against the crushing of the light

Rulers plot, scheme together in their might
Seeing eyes unseeing, blinded by the night
They rage, rage against the light

Though dust the Dragon eats it was his, the first fight
Now he twists all and shrouds, blotting at the light
For him they rage, rage in the night

Truth’s voice thunder, forever is the light
The words of its maker, remake the world right
The truth will rage, rage, for it is light

The world is pitch, blackened by blankets of night
Darkness is known, only if first was the light
And we rage, rage against the night

Darkness. Then dawn, a king to rule in might
A voice of thunder, His words banish night
Wherefore we rage, rage against the dying of the light
No, We will not go gentle into that good night!
